That was because I was watching the best frickin' episode of LOST ever. Talk about saving the best for last. It's after midnight; I'm exhausted; My wife's been ragging me about which one of the Lostaways I will be for Halloween... Funny... But I feel as if I have been neglecting my blog. So I at least wanted to get a short list up here tonight, and then get more detailed after I watch it again this weekend. Then I'll have the entire summer to take a break and rest my brain... or I guess I could play the game: The Lost Experience.

Here's a short list of a few things that stood out in the Lost season two finale: (in no particular order)

1. The Bird. It swoops out of the jungle as they are making their way to the location of Michael's betrayal.

I know it's not a great screen capture, but it was the best one I could get. Hurley asks if the bird just said his name. What do you think? Here's the Audio. The spirit of Libby maybe? Watching over him? Or is it the Others controlling the animals and using them for remote viewing?

2. The strange statue of the foot with four toes.

I am trying to figure out what animals have four toes. So far I have come up with the Korean Dragon. It has four toes where as the Chinese Dragon has five and the Japanese Dragons have three. It is believed when the Korean Dragons leave for China, they gain toes; and when they go to Japan they lose toes... ah crap, I'm reading a damn mythology site about dragons. Damn! Sorry!

It does seem sort of "Planet of The Apes" though, doesn't it?. "Damn you! Damn you all to hell!!!"

3. It was Desmond who brought down Flight 815. We learned so much about his past and a lot of things really started to fall into place. I still have more questions, of course, but I'll get to those in a bit. I had to listen a few time to get his full name and rank, as well as why he was in jail..er, well, we don't know the full story yet. Lance Corporal Desmond David Hume of the Royal Scots Regiment of Her Majesty's Armed Forces was dishonorable discharged after serving his time. Look Out! A some-what religious tie-in: Check out the wiki on the Royal Scots. The regiments nickname was Pontius Pilate's bodyguard. David Hume is also the name of a famous philosopher.

Desmond also makes the claim that they (those on the Island) are the only ones left. "We are stuck in a snow globe. There's no escape." This is only briefly mentioned and not brought up again. I wonder why he said that? It's obvious that humanity is still here because of the way it ended: we saw some (Russian? Maybe?) dudes in a Siberian watch station as well as Penny Widmore. It must have been Lindelof/Cuse theory debunk.

Here's a pic of Jack and Desmond before they met at the stadium that day.

This is right before Penny shows up and utters the very sweet line, "All we need to truly survive is one person." We also got a confirmation that the girl in the picture with Desmond that we saw early on in the hatch is not Jack's wife, but in fact Penny.

Steve & I had been trying to figure that out. I even compared pics and they do look similar. Just for giggles, let me post the hatch picture:

Wait a tick! That's a different girl. Desmond has on the same shirt, but Penny's wearing a black shirt in the first picture and the girl in the other pic has a white shirt on. Do you think it's just a continuity oversite that they hoped no one would discover? Or is there more to the story?

We finally got meet Kelvin Inman in Desmond's flashbacks. He was the same guy who interrogated Sayid during Desert Storm. He said that he was kicked out of the Army because his men followed his orders. I wonder what he ordered them to do? We were also introduced to the Swan fail safe switch.

And we saw how Kelvin accidentally died at the hands of Desmond. I say accidentally because it didn't look like he wanted to kill him. It was because these two were frolicking on the beach that Flight 815 was brought down. So the question you must ask yourself now is, was it an accident or was it fate? Did Kelvin know that the rip in his suit would lure Desmond out of the hatch thus leaving no one to push the button? That may become a new theory for season three.

...uh what number am I on?...*scrolling back up*...oh yes! (This short list is getting long).

4. This whispers are back. I didn't capture the audio, but I did listen to that scene a few times and it sounds like I heard one of the whispers say, "Elizabeth. Hit 'em!" I couldn't make out the other whisper when Jack screams, "Run!"

5. The Rock. Here's a capture from last week.

I will try to post another capture this weekend. It's looks like something you would see at Stonehenge.

6. The Pneumatic Tubes (which would have been the name of my band if I had one back in the 80's. We would have toured with the Producers and Missing Persons...sorry, my brain is melting).

I stand corrected. The Pearl ("?") was the psychological experiment and The Swan button really did need to be pushed in order to release the magnetic pressure that would build up every 108 minutes.

7. Fenry Gale... and yes, I meant to spell it like that. It's his new trendy celebrity nick name. So is this guy HIM? The one in charge. He jumped Zeke's ass about the beard like Tommy Hilfiger jumped Axl Rose the other night (did you here that story? Ask me about it later.) Fenry sure acted like he was the man. And around the same time, thanks to a slip up from Miss Klugh, we learned that Mr. Friendly's real name is Tom. He also removes his beard when pressured by Kate.

8. Compass bearing 325. That's the way they tell Michael to go to get rescued. It's North West btw.

9. Libby.

I read somewhere that Libby was married to Widmore. However, she says her husband who just passed away a month ago was named David. She seemed like she was on the verge of depression. Maybe that is why she ended up in the asylum with Hurley. That and the fact that she gave a complete stranger her boat, which her late husband named after her, "Elizabeth."

10. Charles Widmore

You've seen and read the name throughout season two: Widmore Labs & Widemore Construction. What an ass. He intercepted all of the correspondence that Desmond sent to Penny, his daughter, and he really didn't want Desmond in her life at all. I'm not sure if you caught it, but the race around the world was sponsored by Widmore. Desmond wanted to get back his honor by winning the race.

11. The fate of Desmond, Locke, and Eko. Charlie made it out ok. I'll guess we'll have to wait until September to see who survived the magnetic pulse, as well as, what happens to Jack, Kate, and Sawyer as they go home with the Others/Hostiles.

12. The ending.
The two Siberian (and I'm only speculating as to where they actually were) Scientists discover the magnetic anomaly and call Penny. They say, "I think we've found IT."

They didn't say "him" they said "IT." Is she trying to locate the island to find Desmond, whom she loved and would wait forever for, or do you think she's deeper than that? Maybe trying to take down the Dharma Initiative, Hanso, and her father's company (like Persephone is in the Lost Experience game). Just laying down some ground work for season three.

I have had a great time the last few months analyzing and blogging about this show. This is actually more than I have ever written in my life. It's funny how when you get older, you discover new things. I am reading more than I ever have as well as writing now. I read an article in Entertainment Weekly that quoted Damon Lindelof as saying that part of the show is about self-discovery. Well, I've made some major self discoveries of my own. Thanks LOST... and thanks to everyone who reads this ( and calls me to let me know I haven't updated the blog yet). You inspire and motivate me.

~Tripp

LOST "Three Minutes" Airdate: May 17, 2006

NOTE: Uuuuuugh... I am so far behind. I started this blog last Thursday morning thinking that I would be able to finish, and now it's Wednesday morning...the day of the finale. I totally lost steam as the weekend went on, but hopefully I will finish today.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three minutes was the amount of time that Michael was given with Walt. This episode could have been also been titled, " They're Not Who They Say They Are...They're Pretending." Well then who the hell are these "Others?" As I piece together the few clues that I have gathered, the "Others" are clean-cut, well dressed, doctors/scientists who like to dress up in rags and pretend to be castaways. But why the charade? Is it part of a bigger psychological experiment? It's seems this blog entry will pose more questions than answers... but, then again, what's new?

One question I had prior to this episode was answered concerning how they would explain Walt's growth and voice change during his hiatus as he hit puberty. It appeared to me that his voice was over dubbed using a younger sounding kid, or maybe they recorded stuff with him last year before he disappeared. Also, I forgot that Hollywood can make you as short or as tall as they want. Take Tom Cruise, he always looks taller than his co-stars, and he is a little dude.

As Micheal was taken to the Other's beach side camp, he sees the rock with the hole in the middle that Walt tells him about via the computer (if that was in fact Walt conversing with him).

It looks like some sort of symbol. Has anyone run across any explanation of this rock?

The Others' base camp is very primitive, but why? Why the masquerade? Is it part of standard Dharma/Hanso operating procedure to create the illusion that the Others are castaways whenever the initiative is compromised? When Alex (Roussea's daughter)and Michael are in the woods,

She tells Michael that he's [Mr. Friendly/Zeke] just delivering a message and he has to scare them to do it. Fear. The Others are using fear as a weapon/defense to keep the survivors at bay. Take the torch scene as an example:

"Light 'em up!!!" Just before the meeting with Mr. Friendly and the Flight 815 survivors, he instructs Pickett to get the torches ready. I only counted about 6 Others. So the whole torch scene was yet another illusion to instill fear, huh?

The woman in charge of the Others camp calls her self Miss Clue (or is it Klugh?) I don't see her listed in the IMDB list of characters, so I'm not 100% sure of how she spells her name. It might be important (ie. Ethan Rom = Other Man). She seemed to know a lot about Michael's relationship to Walt, as well as info on the other survivors. I wonder if she heads up the black smoke project that we haven't seen since it read Eko's mind. She also says "for someone who wants his son back so badly, you don't seem to know a lot about him." That was after she drills him with several scientific/medical questions regarding Walt. That comment was similar to something the attorney said to Michael in another episode. I need to back track and see if I can locate exactly what was said.

A little later, when Michael gets to see Walt (who starts spilling the beans about the Others), Miss Clue threatens Walt with, "You don't want me to put you in the room again, do you?" What is this "room" and where is it? Do you think it could be the hatch that was guarded by the two armed men?

And are they guarding the door to keep people out, or keep what ever is behind it in? If you recall, there was some sort of monster that pulls the pilot out of the plane in the very first episode. Maybe they have some sort of genetic animal mutation experiment gone wrong held captive. I have a feeling that the room Miss Clue (Klugh) spoke about will be important in the finale.

Also during the scene with Walt and Michael, Walt breaks away from Pickett and runs to Michael to hug him. He whispers something muffled into Michael's ear. I played the audio file over and over and over and it sounds like he says, "They're mutants." I'm sure it's just me over analyzing the show again, but there was just something that stood out in that portion of audio.

After they take Walt away, Clue knows she has broken Michael and he is willing to do anything to get Walt back. In comes the list:

I can understand why they would want Jack, Kate, & Sawyer. They have somewhat moved into a leadership role among the survivors, but why would they want Hurley/Hugo? Is it because of his connection with Leonard in the nut house? Or are they wanting to experiment on someone who is feeling hurt and rage inside because they just lost someone they love?

A few other things (as I try to wrap this up and get back to work)

Check out the gun that Pickett uses to shoot at Michael in the clearing.

It's a German Luger.

There have been some theories posted in the forums that the entire Hanso Foundation may be some sort of Natzi/Neo-Natzi run program. I even thought at one time that the Dharma Initiative may be an American Military run project because of some subtle clues in earlier episodes. The Luger would not have been standard US military issue obviously, so that sort of debunks that theory of mine. The Luger would not have been issued at all recently because it's such a rare gun. Sure, collectors can still find them and there have been some replicas produced. I wonder if the Others ran across a secret stash on the island that has been there since WWI & II? Hmmmmmmm...?

Did you notice that Eko's cross did the same thing that Jack's key did earlier in the season as he entered the hatch?

The big magnetic field was pulling on it. I'm still not sure what that means. Eko seems content on moving into his new "bachelor pad" as Charlie gets pissed at him for not finishing the church. Charlie did complete his 12 steps as he threw the heroin into the ocean, and it looks like he has made amends with Claire.

I'll give you one guess who's on the boat, brotha.

I'll give you another guess as to who the original owner of the boat is/was. We will find out in the first hour of the season finale through the flashbacks of the guy who is on the boat.

I know I said when I started this blog that I wanted to stay away from spoilers, but I just couldn't take it anymore...I had to know how this season ends. I read a few different endings on several spoiler sites. I'm not sure which one to believe, but if any of the info I read holds true, the season finale will be one hell of an episode. And like the promo says, we will get the answers to a few of questions:
1. What happens when the countdown runs out and they don't push the button?
2. Why did Oceanic Flight 815 crash?
3. Who are the Others?

Here's to tonight!

LOST "?" My brain doesn't seem to be functioning all that well this morning. It must still be over analyzing this episode of Lost. I wasn't sure how to craft this entry this morning because there was so much information that I got from the show last night. I guess I should just start with Mr. Eko since the show revolved around him.

The last time we saw some of Eko's back story, his brother, a real priest, was shot and put on a drug plane that was leaving Nigeria. I believe I posed the theory that it was at that point that Eko turned to Christ. However, we learn in "?" that he had fake papers and passport, and he was living as a fake priest in Australia. I can only theorize that he assumed his brothers identity at the airport that day to save his own ass. I have a screen capture of the passport, but I can not read the name all that well. Eko's brother is Yemi. I'll have to track down a Hi-Def screen capture to see if I can read the name on the passport.

The viewers now know that Eko is definitely a penitent man, but when did he stop being a "fake priest" and turn his life over to God? Was it at the airport when the girl who miraculously came back to life confronted him with a message from his brother on the other side? Or was it when the plane crashed? He did take a 40 day vow of silence after he killed two "Others" the first night, so we can assume that he was a believer then.

The "miracle" girl autopsy tape was really creepy. I posted it in my last blog entry if you really want to hear it again. She was obviously dead if she was sitting on an autopsy table about to be cut open. I wonder why her father, the psychic, was trying to downplay the incident and get Eko out of there. Do you think he may have seen something about him when he read Claire in season one? He claimed he was a fraud, but I think that was just to get Eko out of there and on to Flight 815. If there had been a church investigation, Eko would have not been on that flight. Does that make Eko the key as to why the plane was brought down? It's extremely difficult to narrow it down to just one person, and I don't think we're supposed to. (*cheesy movie trailer voice guy - "Fate brought them together. Love will tear them apart...")

I have a feeling the psychic, his character name is Richard Malkin, will have played a bigger role than we expected in getting Claire, Eko, and who knows who else on the plane when all is revealed. Perhaps he works for Hanso, Widmore, Dharma, etc.

I need to go back to season one and watch the scene where Boone dies. From what I remember, he was in the plane which was situated on the cliff that Eko climbs. Did Boone look like he saw the question mark before the plane fell? Eko asks Locke what made the plane fall, to which Locke responded, "Boone made it fall. And then he died. A sacrifice that the island demanded." Eko: "What?" Locke: "Oh nothing." Locke still seems to know more about what is going on than he appears to know... However, I thought it was really stupid of him to send his hatch map up the pneumatic tube in the Pearl.

Even though this new hatch ("?"/The Pearl) appeared to have been abandoned for some time and the plane covered the main entrance (I say "main entrance" because there may be other ways to access each hatch that the survivors don't know about yet), I wonder if someone may have been watching Michael to make sure he carried out his mission. There was a close up of some cigarette butts, but that doesn't definitively place someone in the hatch recently. In the Pearl, Locke & Eko discover a new training film which basically rendered the button in the Swan Hatch useless. The training video claims that it is/was just a psychological experiment and those assigned to the Pearl were to observe and report on the Swan. This is something that I have thought all along...BUT, as John is totally losing faith in himself and the button, Eko says that the work John has been doing is "now more important than ever. We are being tested." Eko is even willing to take over entering the numbers and pushing the button. I'm so freakin' confused at this point.

The Pearl training video also mentions something about shift change... Participants in the experiment were to report to a ferry which would carry them to where they were staying. I do believe we will see that ferry in tomorrow night's Three Minutes.

A Few other things:

- Libby does try to call out Michael as her killer to no avail.
- Eko is building a church because he was told to do so in a dream.
- Eko performs the Last Rites on Ana-Lucia. The fake priest didn't totally waste his time in the seminary.
- The stash of guns, drugs, and such was right under Sawyer.

Timeline question and answer: Steve and I were discussing the psychic last week and he proposed that maybe he really was a fraud and that Claire came to him after Eko and Richard did see something when he read Claire. I thought about this for a while and re-watched Raised By Another from season one and came to the conclusion that Claire visited the psychic before Eko. She was barely pregnant when she went to him. She is a lot further along in her pregnancy when Flight 815 crashes. Eko, on the other hand, visits the psychic within days of getting on the doomed flight.

Did I get everything? I'm looking forward to the next episode, Three Minutes. We will find out what happened to Michael when he ran off into the woods in search of Walt. I hear we will even get to see Walt again who will be older and taller. I wonder how they will explain that?

I have another really busy week, but hopefully I will be able to get to the blog before the weekend kicks in. Thanks for reading.

LOST "?" Airdate: May 10, 2006

I am exhausted, but I wanted to get some stuff up for the folks who read my blog early in the morning when they get to work. I will discuss the episode in more detail after I have had a good night sleep.

It was another great episode and I can't wait for the season finale on the 24th. I pretty much ruined it for myself when I read a spoiler earlier today. I just wanted to see if this guy who was posting on a MySpace group was on the money... and he WAS. I knew about the new hatch discovery as well as Libby's death at the end. Speaking of the new hatch, (? = Pearl), I captured the new training video here. I have a feeling the full video without the cut-a-ways to Locke and Ecko will be hidden on the new website that was advertised at the end of the new Hanso TV Commercial. It's www.sublymonal.com for those playing the game. I unlocked the subLYMONal code, but I'm not yet sure what to do with it and the Hanso site is down...or just bombarded.

We did get to see Claire's Psychic friend again and he was connected to Ecko. Here's a capture:

And here are a two from season one's Raised By Another:

While I was pulling captures from season one, I came across a pic that I saw posted on another forum recently. Claire's boyfriend is in his art studio. The art looks familiar, almost as if he were the hatch painter...hmmmmmm.

I don't have a good close up shot of him, but he does look like a young Fake Henry Gale.

One more thing before I check out for the night. I don't know if it will come into play at all, but I found the Autopsy Tape really creepy. I just felt compelled to post it.

The more I listen to it, the more unprofessional the coroner sounds as he flirts with his assistant.

That should get you through the morning. There is so much more to discuss. *yawn* I am toast. I'll post again tomorrow.

The Lost Experience

So what exactly is the LOST Experience? It's a game. And interactive alternate reality game that started this past Wednesday when they ran a Hanso Foundation TV ad during a real commercial break. A game that I knew nothing about. I guess I was so busy analyzing each show that I missed the announcement of the game. Damn! Damn! Damn! I'm always late to the table! At least I did jump in fairly early. The story line of the game will stay true to the show, but will go more in depth and introduce some new characters...one being Persephone, who seems intent on taking down Hanso from the inside and exposing the company for what it really is. There is no prize for solving the game, but the writers have promised that players will learn extra deep dark secrets of the island.

I posted an earlier link to The Lost Experience. This is a supplemental website that coincides with the game. It is not an official ABC sanctioned website, but I do believe it is run by The Tail Section, which I have found very informative and reliable. I don't foresee them posting false information.

In the E! Online article that I will post below, they say that anyone can play the game, even if you have never seen the show. The information given will be different on each continent, so the key to solving the mystery will be to share info with each other. Feel free to ask or share via this blog, or visit my MySpace page.

Here's a little something to get you started:
- The U.S. phone number for the Hanso Foundation is 1-877-HANSORG (426-7674)
- When you call, click through the various options. You should hear the hidden message from Persephone and it will provide you with the password you need for the Hanso website.
- For those who don't have the time or patience, the password is: breaking strain.
- Sign up for e-mail on the Hanso site and you'll see what happens.
- Once you have entered the password, you will be able to search for Easter Eggs.
- Happy Hunting!

Here's the E! article:

ABC Gives Fans a "Lost Experience"

by Natalie Finn
Apr 24, 2006, 6:20 PM PT
ABC has devised a way to keep fans of its hit show confused, guessing and on the edge of their seats during the lazy days of summer reruns. The network announced Monday the creation of an interactive multiplatform treasure-hunt game called Lost Experience that will introduce a new story line but stay true to Lost's signature mix of supernatural and psychological mystery.
The Lost Experience will require players to trade email messages and phone calls and check out billboards, TV commercials and Websites to gather all the necessary clues.
The game's premise will be rooted in Lost history, but ABC said that you don't need to have watched the show to get in on the game, which will feature new characters and delve deeper into the manipulative Hanso Foundation that was introduced in season two as the benefactor of the button-pushing Dharma Initiative. (Well, watching a few episodes beforehand couldn't hurt...)
There is no grand prize for those who manage to piece the puzzle together, but ABC promises that those who play will end up learning some of the island's better-kept secrets.
"Cutting edge technology has vaulted us into a new era," ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson said in a statement. "Audiences are demanding greater depth of content and more creative ways of storytelling."
In a savvy stroke of synergy, the game's first clue, in the form of a toll-free number that you must call, will air during a May 3 Lost episode. The first clues for Others in the U.K. and Australia are being released May 2 and May 6, respectively.
One of the most exciting parts of the Lost Experience will be the interaction it fosters among people all over the world, according to Michael Benson, a senior VP at ABC. He said that Lost's writers, not ABC marketers, were responsible for plotting the game's course. More than 20 broadcastes on five continents will air the series of clues in different ways and ABC would like to see fans reaching out to each other to stay up to date on the latest Lost Experience info.
"We wanted to tell stories in a nontraditional way," Lost writer and executive producer Carlton Cuse told the New York Times, "and there were certain stories that Damon [Lindeloff] and I were interested in telling that don't exactly fit into the television show."
Luckily the worry that something might not fit hasn't stopped them from adding a host of complicated back stories, symbolism and numerical puzzles to the show for fans to writhe in exhilarated anticipation over.
"We purposely design the show with a big amount of ambiguity so people can theorize about what a certain scene means," Cuse said. "This allows the fans to participate in the process of discovery."
Cuse also offered viewers a tip for starting the Lost Experience off on the right foot:
"Watch the May 3 episode very carefully. You can TiVo it, but don't skip the commercials.
"You have to give the audience something to connect to," Benson told the New York Times. "I want to prove to the audience that this is something they will enjoy, that is organic to the show. I don't want the audience to feel like 'they are just selling to me or marketing to me.'"
This is not the first time that Lost has sent its faithful to other media platforms in search of answers. To up the eerie factor, the show's team created a website for Oceanic Airlines, whose doomed Flight 815 made our castaways Lost in the first place.
"What we discovered was that by creating additional content for this show, we could creative a marketing tool that would have fans more invested in the program, and if it was cool they'd share with their friends," Benson said.
ABC also announced earlier this month that it is making new episodes of Lost, Desperate Housewives, Alias and Commander in Chief, available in May for free online viewing, although fans will have to sit through ads that they can avoid if they download commercial-free shows for $1.99 per episode from Apple's iTunes Music Store.
Lost, which has averaged 15.4 million viewers this season and is one of iTune's most popular TV downloads to date, will leave viewers staring into the dark hatch of summer hiatus with a two-hour season finale May 24.

Easter Egg on The Hanso Site

Two great new sites have just launched to keep our minds occupied during the Summer hiatus. Sadly, we have exhausted our mandate as a watchdog organization and must petition you for a formal investigation.

It has come to our attention that a new strain of meningococcal disease has been reported in the coastal villages of the United Republic of Tanzania. This strain is particularly alarming in that it has successfully breached the simian/homo sapiens barrier

As the enclosed documentation and correspondence demonstrate, we have repeatedly asked the executive board of The Hanso Foundation for assistance in determining the possible correlation between the outbreak of this and transgenic disease and the research being conducted on primates in their Experimental Station in Zanzibar. As our requests have met with utter and complete disregard, we feel we have no other choice than to demand your immediate intervention.

As the Hanso Foundation is using primates to research gene therapies intended for human use, the correlation should be obvious.

Considering the alarming nature of this outbreak and the mounting death toll it is imperative that The Hanso Foundation immediately open the doors of their Experimental Station for inspection and, should a link be found between their work and this disease, cease and desist their activities immediately.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Lives are at stake.

Monsieur Jaques Maillott
Director General, GWC Executive Committee

LOST "Two For The Road" Airdate: May 3, 2006

I'm having a hard time finding time today to post. Or was Ana running the seduction to get the gun?

Even though the last five minutes WAS the show, let me back up to the beginning and make sure I didn't miss anything...of course, I'm sure I did.

Ana's mom knows it was her who killed the man who shot her [Ana] and killed her unborn child. Ana quits the police force and becomes and airport screener. It's there that she meets Jack's Dad, Dr. Christian Shephard...er... just Christian Shephard at this point because he said he had quit being a doctor. Christian "Tom" Shephard talks Ana-Lucia "Sarah" Cortez into going to Australia with him as his personal security. He said what he had to do there was dangerous, but all we were privy to was Christian trying to see his daughter from an affair he had with an Aussie. Alright! With that being said, who is the "daughter?" I'm thinking Claire, but I need to watch her backstory again. And why did it take four days of heavy drinking before Christian made his move? What was he waiting on? Who was he trying to avoid? Was the "danger" he spoke of a disgruntled husband? An unforgiving person maybe? Something to ponder.

Also, Pasty Cline's "Walking After Midnight" was playing on the car radio. This was also playing in "What Kate Did" back in November. If my memory serves me correctly, it was also playing in the truck when Kate was riding with the farmer who took her in. His name escapes me. It was right before the Marshal catches up to her. Is this a timeline cue. Pasty Cline was on the radio at the same time when Kate was being caught and when Christian was trying to connect with his long lost daughter.

It was also rather humorous to see Christian open his door into Sawyer. That was a blatant character crossing. As was Jack, Anna, and Jin in line at the airport when Jack was trying to get his deceased father on an earlier flight.

Back in the hatch, Fake Henry confesses to Locke that he has failed his mission...

Damn! Out of time. I'll have to pick this back up at home. Sorry for the delay, but I just found a major Easter Egg of The Hanso Foundation website. I'll post it in a little while.

Ok, I'm back. Hours have past and I thought that I would never get back to my blog. If you are reading this for the first time then no time has passed at all. We're back in good ol' 1955 and Doc has just fallen off of his toilet and came up with the idea for the flux capacitor...oh wait...sorry.

Where was I? Oh yes! Fake Henry confessed to Locke that he has failed his mission. When he was caught in Rousseau's trap, he was coming for Locke. As Aaron brought up on my earlier post, I have mentioned the whole good/bad thing before. The Others seem to be after the good survivors (those with no skeletons in their closets; those who are pure of heart)and could care less about the bad survivors (those who have killed). That's why they took the children.

I'm not sure if the "Say Anything" movie reference by Hurley has any significance other than confirming that he loves Libby. When John Cusak's character,Lloyd holds the boom box over his head, he professes his love for Diane (Ione Skye).

It seemed to me that Jack was trying to make good with Locke and they were patching some of their issues up.

Now, let's get into Michael's head. At first I thought he may have been brainwashed by the Others. After further review, I pretty sure he is being forced to carry out a mission: rescue Fake Henry, infiltrate the survivors, and lead them back to the Others. For a man who wants nothing more than to get his son back, this mission is a test for Michael to prove that he is worthy to get Walt back. He does apologize to Ana before he shoots her. He also shoots Libby because she just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He can have no witnesses in order to carry out the plan. Libby is credited as being the next episode, "?," so she may not die right away. They do say, "She's dead" in the promo for next weeks show and it looks like they are folding Ana's arms on the floor. So maybe Ana is the only one to die and Libby is saved by whatever may have been between the blankets she was carrying.

Michael also describes the Others as dirty tent dwellers who are living off of dried fish. We saw the rags and fake beards during "Maternity Leave," so maybe there are two sets of Others. Then again he just may be setting up the survivors by making the think that they can take 'em out. He also mentions the next hatch. I have seen the next training film and that hatch deals with marine life experiments. The training film is no longer available on the site where I first discovered it. I bet it is hidden on the Hanso Foundation website. I'll get into that and post the Easter Egg that I found today in my next blog entry.

Another thought is that Michael carries out this mission to prove his worthiness, but will side with the survivors when the battle begins. *cueing up Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" in the background*

"Two For The Road"

The title of this episode is quite fitting since the two who were shot and presumably killed were the same two arrested for DUI. There were rumors dating back to February that Ana would be killed off not only for the DUI, but because there reports that she was very hard to work with on the set. Although, Michelle Rodriguez said in a TV interview this morning that she knew she would be killed off when she signed her contract. She was not able to tell anyone... not even the other actors. Is this her way of saving face? That's yet to be seen and may never be. If she's not sitting in a seat at the Lost reunion, we'll then know.

When Ana tosses Henry a knife, he recognizes it as Goodwin's. That's why he brings him up and talks about how Goodwin said he could change her. Why couldn't she kill him? Maybe it wasn't too late for Ana. Maybe she could be changed.

It really blew my mind when Michael shot Ana and Libby. I thought for sure they would save any other major events for the season finale. But I guess that would have been cliche... and this show is anything but.

One other thing before I begin a new post to discuss and direct you to a few new websites, the combination to the armory is 18-R, 1-L, 31-R. I don't really know the significance. I just thought it was neat that they gave it out. Sorry it took me so long to get this entry in. Let me know what I missed.

LOST "Two For The Road" Airdate: May 3, 2006

I only have a few minutes this morning and I will do a more in depth entry later today... I just couldn't wait... Holy [expletive deleted]!!!! Holy [expletive deleted]!!! I can't [expletive deleted] believe it!!! It was back in February that Mike sent me an e-mail of the rumor that was circulating which said they were going to kill off Ana-Lucia. A few weeks later, I read a JJ Abrams article which spun the rumor. He said that they weren't going to kill her. I thought for sure they would wait until the finale to kill of anyone. What an episode!!! The promo for next week confirms that at least one of them is dead. It looked like Ana laying out on the floor. There was no mention of Libby in the promo and she is listed in the IMDB as being in the "?" episode. I read somewhere that Libby's alter-ego Cynthia Watros has accepted a starring role on another series so she will most likely be "killed-off."

What an ingenious plan! Michael shoots himself in the arm and Fake Henry escapes. It will look like Fake Henry killed Ana and shot Libby and Michael. Thus leaving Michael as the trusted infiltrator. So what do you think? Was he brainwashed? Or forced to carry out a mission in order to get his son back? I'll discuss everything more in depth a little bit later this morning.

Did you catch the Hanso Foundation commercial? I thought it was very slick that they snuck it into a real commercial break. I'm just glad I wasn't down stairs at the time digging through the freezer looking for the last fudgecicle (if that's how you even spell it). They have re-revamped the Hanso Foundation Website. There is a ton of Easter eggs on the site. I got the password yesterday by listening to the voice mailboxes boxes at a UK number. I didn't know they would give out an American phone number last night. I am still exploring the site and I will not give you the password. Have a little fun trying to find it and if you wear yourself out, e-mail me and I'll help you out. Just remember the name "Persephone." Here's the TV ad with the U.S. phone number.

I'll be back later this morning.

LOST "S.O.S." Airdate: April 12, 2006

Once again, if your Tivo cut out early, you may have missed the somewhat surprising ending. In what has become the traditional style of the show, we were privey to a bunch of goodies. Not only did Michael finally return, but, if you watched the promo for the next LOST (which will not air until May 3rd), Michael tells them that the Others are barely armed and he can lead them back to where they are. Get ready for Jack and Anna's war. But I digress. I'm getting ahead of myself.

In this Bernard/Rose-centric episode we learn some new things... important things. And, as always, the little that they give us spawns even more questions. The most important piece of information we get comes from what the faith healer, Isaac, says to Rose in the flashback:

"There are certain places with great energy. Spots on earth, like the one we're above now. Perhaps this energy is geological...magnetic? Or perhaps it's something else? And when possible, I harness this energy, and give it to others."

So, the island is one of these places? An energetic hotspot. It (I refer to the island now as if it is a living being) has already healed Locke, Jin, and now Rose. I'm still sticking with the belief that Sun had an affair with her English teacher until told otherwise, so maybe Jin wasn't healed. That's to be seen. We do know from past episodes that there is a huge magnetic presence in the hatch. Remember the key on the necklace?

I'm not sure if this is important or not, but I caught two different spellings of Isaac's name on the bulletin board. The first spelling "Isaac" and the second "Issac." The first spelling "Isaac" could be either biblical or scientific.

Biblical Isaac: He was the son of Abraham. God ordered Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. Abraham was going through with the sacrifice when the Lord stopped him.It was a test of faith and obedience for both.

Scientific Isaac: Sir Isaac Newton is regarded as one of the most influential scientists in history. He was a physicist, mathematician, astronomer, alchemist, inventor, and natural philosopher. Astronomy! Hmmmmmmmm. Some posts that I have been reading suggest that astronomy may come into play when the Blast Door Map is futher explored.

Science and religion. Religion and science. The eternal battle between these two seems to be the main theme of this show.

As far as the other spelling, "Issac." It could easily be written off as a child's misspelling of the name. But, if you google "ISSAC," (and I did because I have no life) one of the results takes you to the International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation. It's held in Genova, Italy this year in July. Ok, I reeeeaaaaallllyyyy have no life.

What else did we learn? Here's a short list:

1. Bernard never married and he was 56 when he met Rose. They dated for only 5 months before he proposed at Niagra Falls. They spent their honey moon in the outback of Australia where Rose went to the Faith Healer, Isaac.

2. Bernard is a dentist (did we already know that? I can't remember). He's also a type-A personality and a bit of a meglomaniac.

3. Hurley says he's on a fish and water diet. I've read some articles that he will be losing weight in upcoming episodes.

4. Henry Gale has a demented look of satisfaction on his face when he realizes that he finally got to Locke.

5. Sawyerism - "Here comes doctor giggles!" Sawyer is suprised when he learns that Jack also has a gun.

6. Charlie and Mr. Ecko ARE building a church. "People are saved in different ways," Ecko says to Bernard.

7. Songs: I'm not sure of the first song that was playing on the record player in the hatch, but the second one was "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding. From Wikipedia:
"Redding and six others were killed when the plane on which they were traveling crashed into Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin on December 10, 1967. Ben Cauley, one of the members of Redding's backup band, The Bar-Kays, was the only person aboard the plane to survive. He had been asleep until just seconds before impact, and recalled that upon waking he saw bandmate Phalon Jones look out a window and say, "Oh, no!" Cauley then unbuckled his seat belt, and that was his final recollection before finding himself in the frigid waters of the lake, grasping a seat cushion to keep himself afloat. The cause of the crash was never precisely determined."
Sorry! My short list is getting a little long.

8. Kate says," I'm sorry I kissed you [Jack]." "I'm not," replies Jack. They would have done the nasty right then and there, but Michael pops up and ruins the moment. To tell you the truth, I thought Sawyer was going to jump out of the brush with a "Hidyho there Freckles!" I was surprised to see Michael.

9. Kate tells Jack about the Medical Hatch. She let it slip that they Others were more sophisticated so they must be in one of Rousseau's traps.

10. The black rocks that Bernard wants to use on the S.O.S sign will get the maximum contrast on the white sand. Another Black/White, Yin/Yang reference maybe?

11. Back to Jack & Kate. The others didn't want her or Jack. Kate says they are "Damaged Goods!" Hmmmmmmmmm....

12. Jack seems to be a pretty good shot. Does he have a military/special forces background? I've brought it up before. There is a lot more to Jack that we will find out in season three if he survives the castastrophic events that are coming up in the season finale.

13. For those who might be thinking that Isaac, the faith healer, and the psychic that Claire goes to in season one are the same person. It's not. I've already checked. They did have the same reaction though. I wonder if we will ever get to see what they saw when they were reading them.

14. Locke/Rose connection. He is in the wheel chair at the airport waiting to board flight 815. He stops and picks up Rose's medicine. She knows he was in a wheel chair and that the island has healed him as well as herself.

What did I miss? Post and let me know. I'll see ya here in a few weeks when "Two For The Road" airs in May.

LOST "Dave" Airdate: April 5, 2006

I would like to apologize on behalf of JJ Abrams and the writers of LOST for the worst opening in the history of the show. If this was your first time tuning in, you may be wondering what the big deal is about this show, and we may have "lost" you before the first commercial break. They didn't even show the usual "previously on Lost" promo. If you did tune out, you missed some important details as the show got progressively better.

Take for instance...oh,hang on...*dry heave*...I'll start as soon as I get this 9 1/2 weeks image with Hurley and Libby substituting Dharma ranch and cream corn for vegetables...*bleck* Ok, I'm better now...Hey! They have been on the island over 60 days. Maybe it really has been 9 and 1/2 weeks. No way. The writers wouldn't dare.

We finally learn the Hurley/Libby connection. Earlier, I thought she may have been one of his doctors in the mental hospital. I was somewhat surprised to learn she was a patient. If your Tivo cut off then you totally missed the "Twilight Zone" ending. Here's Libby's pic from the nut house. Looks like she's a little depressed:

I assume that we will get a Libby backstory soon as to why she was in the hospital. I bet they save it for season three.

We also learn why Hurley's mom put him in the mental hospital. He blamed himself and his weight for a deck collapse that killed two people. Number alert!!! After watching this scene again or rather listening to it, I discovered that there were 23 people on the deck, and it was only meant to hold 8 people.

This accident put Hurley into a catatonic state in which all he did was eat. I'm no clinical psychologist, but the whole "Dave" thing leads me to believe that Hurley is a paranoid schizophrenic. Isn't schizophrenia in one's genes. Can it be brought about by a traumatic experience like the one Hurley had? The drug that Hurley was taking in the flashback and what he was asking Sawyer for was Clonazepam.

It's a drug used to treat seizures and control anxiety. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it appears that he was not on the correct meds for his true ailment.

Dave the character was steering us viewers in the direction of a theory that has long since been discussed; that this is all in Hurley's head. I'm not sure why they would take us there now except to negate that entire theory. I can only hope that the writers don't string us along and then present us with a St. Elsewhere ending. I will have to physically print out my blog and burn it in a bag of flaming pooh on JJ's doorstep if that's the case. Hopefully not.

I knew right before the doc pulled out his camera that Dave was nothing more than a figment. It was the ol' Fight Club/A Beautiful Mind set up. Two great movies by the way and I don't think I have them listed on the My Space favorite movies. Let me go add them right now.

(...no...no...stay focused.)

Let's see. What else happened?

Sayid catches fake Henry... let's call him Gary Lehen for now (Just running the Ethan Rom anagram machine on the name...you also get Helen Gary. Do we know Helen's last name? I need to go back and watch Lockdown again). Anyway, Sayid catches him in another lie about the real Henry Gale. Fake Henry...er...Gary says he was found dead in the balloon. Real Henry wrote a note on a $20 to his wife saying he was going to put out a signal fire on the beach. He couldn't have been dead. Here's a capture:

Rousseau said when they first captured him that he would lie. He says later in the episode that he is done lying. Are we to believe him about the hatch? I've said from the beginning that the hatch was nothing more than psychological training facility to see how long a subject would follow instructions. The fact that Henry says that nothing happened when the clock ran out solidifies my hypothesis... but he is a professed liar. (damn it! I'm flip-flopping again) Here's a strange screen capture:

Does he have a rope on his other wrist? Or is he just holding his arm up in the air like that? This image reminds me of some art I have seen of Christ on the Cross. I wish I could locate a picture to compare. There was a short conversation about God in this episode. Fake Henry says, "God doesn't know how long we have been here. He can't see this island any better than the rest of the world can." It says in the gospels that while Jesus was on the cross he called out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" The Others have been forgotten... or at least they think they have. But, why would supplies still be arriving though? I have a feeling this is just another of my way out theories.

Supplies? Hmmmm. Why didn't anyone hear a plane? It would have to be flying at a pretty high altitude to make no sound at all. And to be able to make a drop on a small island in the pacific is pretty amazing. Maybe that's where the magnet comes into play. A magnetic guide to bring the supply parachute in. Could that have been what brought the plane down? Something to ponder. I'm not sure that it fits the time line though.

I bet ya a dollar that Mr. Ecko is building some sort of church or alter. He didn't want to tell Charlie, that's for sure. It must have been the smart ass, "is it a Starbucks" remark.

Here's a pic of Sun and Jin enjoying some fun in the sun on this tropical paradise while Hurley kicks Sawyer's ass:

Good for him. Sawyer deserved to be slapped around a bit.

This just in: Connect Four games are flying off the shelf this week at area Toys R' Us:

...and looky here at who's playing with Hurley. It's our old friend and number cruncher, Leonard:

Did I get everything? As always, I welcome your posts whether you agree or disagree with me. It looks like we will have a new episode every Wednesday except April 19th and 26th. Here's the remaining schedule which I found on The Tail Section

LOST Season 2 Episode 19 - "S.O.S." (Rose/Bernard-centric)
Airing April 12, 2006

LOST Season 2 Episode 20 - "Two For The Road"
Airing May 3, 2006

LOST Season 2 Episode 21 - "?"
Airing May 10, 2006

LOST Season 2 Episode 22 - "Three Minutes"
Airing May 17, 2006

LOST Season 2 Episode 23 - Title unknown
Airing May 24, 2006 (Season finale)

I'm sure I will be posting again later today. Thanks for reading.

Add: There are a few things that were said that I just remembered. First, while interogating Fake Henry, they ask him who his boss is? "That guy with the beard?" To which he replies, "He's nobody!" During Maternity Leave we witnessed a clean shaven Mr. Friendly say something like, "what are we going to tell him?" In Dave, Fake Henry lets the Lostaways know that Zeke is not the one running the show. I wonder who "he" is going to be?

Also, right before Dave jumped off the cliff, he says, "See you in another life Hurley." We've heard that before. Didn't Desmond say ," See you in another life, brother" to Jack when he was running the stairs at the stadium?

LOST "Lockdown" Add

Still picking through last night's show. I did miss a few important things and wanted to post the comment I received from Stephanie here on the main page. Thanks Stephanie!:

Ok, Tripp...

You have some great insight into Lost and I was going to post my own LOST recap later today. A few things you may have missed.

-When Locke was doing the housing inspection for that young lady with the accent, I would bet my last dime that the woman was in fact "Nadia", Sayid's love that we were introduced to via flashbacks to when he was in Iraq and had to interrogate her in prison.

I totally missed that. I guess I was too busy searching for a Locke/Sawyer connection. Here's a screen cap of "Nadia."

I am currently searching for a season one "Nadia" pic to compare to this one. While doing this I just ran across a Lost Timeline. It is on Wikipedia, so reader beware. The info looks to be on the money though. Here's a link.

I found a capture on the ABC site from "Solitary."

Both pictures are Nadia.

Here's more from Stephanie:
-Yes, it was an Oceanic flight that we saw do a flyover the motel Locke's dad was hanging out in.

I pulled that screen cap this morning:

-There are 6 hatches as was told in the "Orientation" film. We have seen three. 1) The Swan being where Jack and Locke hang out and punch in the numbers, 2) the hatch where the "Tailies" hung out when the tail section of the plane crashed and they left the beach area, and 3) The "Caudesus" (medical symbol) hatch where Claire was experimented on by Ethan and where Kate found the costumes and makeup used by Mr. Friendly aka Hillbilly Zeke, the guy who kidnapped Walt. I think that the hatch that has been crossed off may have been where "the incident" occurred, that Dr. Marvin Candle spoke of during the Orientation Film.

-Yes, It has been tossed around that Locke's dad is actually the real Sawyer. There is obviously a connection there...some have speculated that even Helen was somehow involved.

-From last week, Sun's pregnancy test was made by Widmore Labaratory. Just as an FYI, in an earlier Charlie-centric episode (I think it was this season), after that were filing the commercial where they were in daipers and his brother was too high and they got fired, the next scene has them following the director outside while Charlie begs for the job back. In the background you can see a factory (popularized on the cover of Pink Floyd's "Animals" album cover, but on the building is the name Widmore Construction. For the same name to come up twice is not a coincidence. A company that does construction and has a Medical testing division? Sounds like a Dharma Subsidiary. Also, Michael said he was in construction. It would be odd if it turned out he worked for Widmore....hmmmmm!

-Lastly, If you have ever gone to the official ABC website there is a "diary" that has journal entries from someone on the island, who is living with the castaways. It was a diary originally started last season by one of the survivors and later was found half buried on the beach and is now being written in by an unknown author, who is obviously a mole in the Lostie bunch. This diary was actually created by the writers of the show to provide another outlet for content that goes on beyond what we see on the show and is legitimate. In the last "entry", the writer states "Something must be done. I've just learned that my brother is being held in the hatch as a suspected 'Other". And from what I've heard his treatment has been less than humane...Who do these people think they are?" Some people speculate that the writer is Libby. She's a bit on the evasive side and I don't trust her.

Well, I have just wasted 20 minutes of my life, but this show is just too good and I've become a total geek! Thanks for the screencaps!

Thank YOU Stephanie for your contribution. I'm checking out the diary right now. Here's the link. It takes you to the most recent diary entry. It doesn't look like the back link works, but you can read each episodes diary entry by accessing the photo gallery and clicking on the diary link under the picture. If you would like to start at the beginning, here's a link to that. The navigation arrows work on this one. After reading a few entries from season one, it looks like Hurley might be the author... it's just some of the things he says that leads to this hunch. I really need to go back through season one with a fine tooth comb. I just don't have that much time on my hands.

Oh...hang on. I just got a little present in the MySpace inbox. Thank you Leslie from Michigan (she's the sister of a good friend of mine)! Check out this link. It's the blast door map in grayscale with a few translations and calculations. Very cool!

Just when I thought it was safe to log off, here's a link to another, more detailed and translated blast door map compliments or Aaron. Thanks! Decoded Blast Door Map

Here's another Blast Door map with more of the Latin translated.

Lost "Lockdown" Airdate: March 29, 2006

There are still a few things that I want to cover from last weeks Lost, and I will get to it eventually. I did get a chance before tonight's episode to go back through a few of the season one shows as I back tracked a bit to check a few details. I came to the conclusion that I need to go back and disect all of season one. There are a lot of details that I missed because I wasn't watching for easter eggs then... I wasn't hooked... I liked the show, but I wasn't infatuated with it like I am now. When I'll find time to do this indepth study of season one is yet another of life's great mysteries. Maybe I'll book a trip to Hawaii and bring my laptop with me...

"Lockdown" was kick ass tonight. So much to discuss and yet so little time (my wife is running an egg timer on me now). Let me just jump right in and say I knew Henry Gale was an "Other"... I just knew it. And it was so brilliant of Sayid to dig up the grave. The alibi was just too perfect. Here's a screen cap of the "real" Henry Gale's license:

Notice his house number is 815. And just for the sake of wasting a few minutes, I googled the address... nothing. When I zabasearched "Henry Gale" a bunch of people and phone numbers popped up. I bet there are some freaks out there making some strange phone calls... don't get any damn ideas now.

Probably more important than the drivers license was the blacklight map on the back of the blast door. Here's a few caps of that:

My pics are kind of hard to make out, but I can surmise that it is what it looks like: a map of all the Hatches. I can make out the swan symbol in what must be the hatch that is manned by Jack & Locke. I remember hearing or reading somewhere a while back that there were six Dharma hatches. It looks like there is a count of seven, but the top left item looks to be drawn differently. I'm not sure what the question mark in the middle is...maybe its the power supply to the island...or the area that our blacklight aritist had yet to explore. I guess the important questions here are: Who drew the map? Was it Desmond or Kelvin? How long and how often was he in Lockdown? He had to be in lockdown mode for the blast doors to be down, right? And why was this person being so secretive?

Lets discuss the lockdown procedure, shall we? We hear static over the hatch speaker, then a countdown, and then the blast doors come down. We also find out later int he episode that food and supplies have been delivered via parachute. Perhaps the squelch that we hear is the drop plane sending out a coded signal. I'm sure this is connection, I'm just not sure why they have to lockdown the hatch while the drop is made. Does it keep the test subjects contained while the scientists get the supplies? Is that the purpose of the lockdown? Or does it have something to do with the magnetic field of the island? My brain is liquifying. Let's change the subject.

Not only did we get way more back story on Locke tonight, which I will get to in a moment, but we also learned a little quickie about Jack, he spent some time in Phuket, Thailand. Jack wouldn't elaborate as to why he was there, but I have a feeling we will soon find out in a future flashback episode, a little JJ Abrams set up if you will. Ya think he was there before or after his wife left him? It was also around the time of this scene we received the line of the night: "Should I go get a ruler?" Oh snap... Kate laying the smackdown. We also heard Jack say that when he needs the guns, he'll get the guns... and Sawyer makes some sort of reference to getting VD in Tallahassee.

Locke seemed to be doing pretty good for himself back when he had hair. He owned a home inspection company. I thought he was just working for one when I caught this capture:

It's a little fuzzy in the pic but it says "John Locke - Owner." It seemed that he was living a pretty good life. It's a shame that he was so messed up in the head over his dad conning him out of his kidney. There had to be more to it. I'm sure it was the whole acceptance issue. Helen enjoys reading the obits. She says that no one ever says anything mean after someone has died. As soon as she read ol' Anthony Cooper's name, I had a feeling that he faked his own death. BTW, if you google "Anthony Cooper," one of the results is a Professor of Psychology at Miami University in Ohio... COINCIDENCE?!?...yeah, probably. I just wasted five more minutes. Is my egg timer up yet?

So Locke's not-so-dead father enlists his help in getting his $700,000 dollars which he conned from Jimmy Pane. I had read in multiple places that we were going to discover a major connection between Locke and Sawyer tonight. I didn't see it unless this Jimmy Pane guy some how connects them. I need to back track a few episodes to see if he's mentioned in "The Long Con." The only other theory I have is that Locke's dad is the real "Sawyer." The man that messed up Sawyers childhood by conning his father. The man that Sawyer took his name from. I may be getting way ahead of myself. Here's a quick easter egg:

The bank safety deposit box is numbered 1516. I'm sure that's just the writers abusing the numbers again.

Oooooooh bonus! As I was writing, this hi-def screen capture of the blacklight map just showed up in my inbox:

Blacklight Map

Sorry to back up, but you can see that one of the hatches was scratched off and re-located on the map. So there are 6 hatches. I can make out the Swan, the medical hatch, the Arrow in which the Talies were in is on the top right, and in the circle it says, "I am here."

I better get this wrapped up (I just heard a *ding*). The only screen cap I didn't get was at the Flight Line Motel where Locke meets his father. The plane that flies over supposedly has a Dharma logo/Oceanic logo on the tail. And as always, if I missed anything, please feel free to post. Oh wait... one more thing before I log off. I caught a glimpse of the wall mural in the hatch that we saw a lot of in season one. I wanted to post that cap and compare it to the the season one pic (second picture) to see if there have been any changes to the mural.

I don't see any at first glance. Probably nothing more than a few more wasted minutes in photoshop for me.

Until next time.

LOST "The Whole Truth" Airdate: March 22, 2006

Screw this episode and bring on next week. While tonight's LOST wasn't all that thrilling, it did have a few moments toward the end, especially when Henry Gale descibes how, if he WERE one of the "Others," he would send Anna, Sayid, and Charlie into a trap and the Others would be able to trade them for him.

Let's back up a bit. I have a feeling that even though Sun promises Jin that she has never been with anyone else, we are going to find out later the "miracle baby" belongs to her English teacher, Mr. Lee. Call it a hunch... call it that fact that every damn one of 'em has a skeleton in their closet. I had forgotten about the epsisode where Jin comes home with blood on his hands. He works as a hitman for Sun's father. I can add him to my list of Lostaways who have killed someone.

I thought it was pretty funny that it was brought to their own attention that "Jack and Locke were too busy worrying about Locke and Jack." Their own pride and race to be in charge is what ultimately lead to the lack of trust from Anna and sent her, Sayid, and Charlie into what may be an ambush. In the preview for next week, it appears that they do find a balloon so I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Not a big night for Hurley, eh? Wasn't he eating something the last time we saw him. I'm not sure what kind of candy bar he was eating and I wasn't able to get a clear screen capture of it. I also don't think that the candy has any relevance,Sun's pregnancy test, on the other hand, did. It's manufactured by Widmore Labs. Widmore Construction was featured in "Fire + Water" (Jan, 2006). I totally missed that the first time because I was concentrating on the Baptism of Christ angle. This Widmore Construction/Widmore Labs will play a much bigger role in the next few episodes.

Sawyer lead this week's Lost book club and he appeared to be burried deep into "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret" by Judy Bloom. What did he say when Sun asked him how's the book? "Predictable... not nearly enough sex..." The book, if you never read it as a child, is about a young girl entering puberty (on the surface). But if you dig deeper, you find that it is also about a young persons personal relationship with God.

There was also mention of the book from the last new episode. I know it's been a while so let me re-cap. It was Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov" and...

...my wife is making me go to bed so I will finish this later on Thursday.

LOST "Maternity Leave" Screen Caps

I wanted to get a few screen captures up from this episode. Also, Susan posted a response to my last blog entry inquiring about Kate's toy plane from season one in the episode that will re-air this Wednesday, "Whatever The Case May Be." It is not an Oceanic Airline toy like the ones used in the crib mobile. I've posted caps to compare below.

The Dharma Medical Bunker entrance

Mr.Friendly (sans beard and rags) Talking With Ethan

The book that Locke gives Henry Gale. First, the crib mobile from the medical bunker.

The plane that Kate removes from the bank robbery in "Whatever The Case May Be."

In this episdode, she says that it belonged to the man she loved, the man she killed. My guess is that she has killed someone else and we will find out soon who that is in an upcoming flashback. Here's one last shot of Kate's plane.

I'm off to find a capture of Claire's lucid dream in which she sees the crib and mobile in the woods back in season one. Let me start and the end of the episode.

Suspected "Other" Henry Gale does a great job of planting some seeds in Locke's head. Another great military tactic: Divide & conquer... turn your enemies against each other. In my last post I discussed how sometimes special ops are trained to assume the role of a fictional character in case they are ever caught behind enemy lines. There is definitely a military presence on the island: the army issue knife that Anna found, the military tactics, and hand to hand combat ability in Ethan are just a few examples.

Speaking of Ethan, we saw the softer side of this ass as he tried to woo a heavily intoxicated Claire. In case you haven't read it all over the internet, the man who calls Ethan out of the nursery and into the hall is none other than Mr. Friendly (a.k.a Zeke). "You were supposed to make the list and then bring her in..." he says to Ethan and then asks, "What am I supposed to tell him?" "Him" is obviously the one in charge, but who could that be? Ya think he's referring to Hanso? And is Hanso really Locke's dad? That has been suggested but not yet confirmed. Another theory I have seen tossed around claims it's Jack's dad who is running the show: Hanso, Jack's dad, and Sun's father partnered together to form the Hanso Foundation and fund the Dharma Initiative.

That really got me thinking, and this is a "way out there" theory; but what if Jack's dad did not technically die? I don't know what made me think of the movie "The serpent and The Rainbow," it just popped into my head. It was a 1988 flick about an anthropologist who goes to Haiti after hearing rumors of a drug that turns people into zombies. The drug actually shuts down the body to the point that people would think you were dead. You could still see and think, but you couldn't move, talk, or scream. What if Jack's dad's death was the beginning of an experiment? I have a feeling that Hanso also owns/owned Oceanic Airlines. What if the crash was already predetermined by the Others to get the doctor back to his post. It would be a good military weapon: make your enemy think you are dead and escape when they dispose of your body... hopefully they don't bury you in a big trench because that would totally suck and defeat the purpose of having that capability. I don't know... maybe this theory holds no weight and was a total waste of a thought process. I just like to throw stuff out there.

Meanwhile, back in the newly discovered Dharma Medical bunker...

I just want to quickly touch on a few other things from "Maternity Leave."

1. The teenage girl who helps Claire escape is Alex or Alexandra, Rousseau's daughter who was taken from her 16 years ago as a baby. Here's my question: if she was a baby when taken by the Others and raised by them, how would she know that Claire was in trouble?

2. They have been on the island now for 60 days. I think Jack made that comment. It doesn't seem like enough time has passed for the now abandoned medical bunker to look as dilapidated as it did. Maybe there is something going on with time. Hurley did make a "time" reference a few episodes ago when the radio they were using picks up Glenn Miller's "Moonlight serenade."

3. Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin... Mr. Eko's nappy chin locks represented the two "others" he killed when they invaded the talies camp a few days after the crash. Why he repented his sins to Henry Gale, I don't know. Maybe it was because Henry knew the men.

4. Kate finds the pirate costumes in the medical bunker lockers, including Mr. Friendly's fake beard and theatre glue. I guess the 'ol pirates in the woods scene was meant to scare the survivors into staying on their side of the island and away from the other side of the island where they might find modern technology.

5. There was a short scene when Ethan takes Claire out of the bunker for some fresh air. He gives her something to drink and she says it tastes "sour." Ethan shrugs it off and says, "Oh, I didn't notice." I'm not sure what he was giving her and/or if it has any relevance at all. He said he was going to miss her. Do you think he may have been sneaking her some of the vaccine?

6. The book that Locke gives Henry Gale is The Brothers Karamazov by Russian author Dostoevsky. I have never read the book, but some quick research on Wikipedia.org reveals a lot. "...often regarded as a masterpiece of literature and one of the greatest novels ever written. The book is written on two levels: on the surface it is the story of a patricide in which all of the murdered man's sons share varying degrees of complicity but, on a deeper level, it is a spiritual drama of the moral struggles between faith, doubt, reason, and free will." Wikipedia Link. Earnest Hemingway cited Dostoevsky as a major influence on his work, hence the Hemingway reference from Locke which fueled Henry's "divide & conquer" tactics. Henry also makes a Steven King mention.

I think that is just about everything I got from this episode. Let me know if I missed something. Feel free to post. The next two weeks will be season one re-runs... thank goodness because I'm on vacation March 11-20. I don't watch much TV when on vacation. The next new episode will be on March 22 with "The Whole Truth."

I'll see you on March 23rd.

LOST Extra

I am very excited about the new episode tomorrow (or tonight if you are reading this late). "Maternity Leave" should be another exciting episode, but I don't really want to discuss anything until after the show. I did, however want to post something else.

Steve asked me about this last week and I have received numerous e-mails inquiring about the Phantom that shows up in the very first episode. I can not take credit for the find because I remember seeing the screen capture a long time ago on one of the forums that I frequent. It was so long ago that I couldn't locate it to post... So I ripped the scene myself and slowed it down a few times in this vignette. Watch the right hand corner of the screen.

Lost Link

Lost "One of Them" Airdate: Feb. 15, 2006

Finally, I found a few minutes to discuss this weeks episode. It's been a busy week, but at least it gave me a couple of days to ponder and digest "One of Them." I really wanted to post some screen captures, but my DVR crashed and I lost the entire episode, and my other screen cap source will not be posting because they are on vacation. I'll have to search around to see if I can find other captures because it will help solidify a few things. Things like the symbols that show up on the hatch clock when the time runs out; the look/smirk on Henry Gales face after he took that beating from Sayid; the guy in the back of the military transport who was looking at a picture of a girl.

In case you didn't notice, that was Kate's dad in the military transport with Sayid. He wasn't her biological father (as we learned a few episodes back), but the man she thought to be her real dad. The girl in his picture was Kate. Assuming that Kate is around 28 presently on the island, she would have been around 15 in the picture. Let me break it down with some TV math: they established the flashback time line to be 1991, during Desert Storm; the Oceanic crash occurred in 2004 and since they have only been on the island for 50+ days, present day for the Losties still falls in 2004; 2004-1991 = 13 years - 28 = 15... 15 is one of the "numbers," but I'm not trying to draw any weird conclusions. I'm only trying to set up a time line. So now Sayid is connected to Kate through her dad.

All of the characters seem to be connected. Sawyer met Jack's dad and was the last person to see him alive. Sawyer was also served coffee by Kate's mom in the Long Con flashback last week. Jack was connected to Shannon. When he chose to save his future wife, the man who died was Mr. Rutherford, Shannon's father. Hurley has a connection to Locke in that after he won the lottery, he owned the box company where Locke worked. Those are only a few of the connections that I can draw off the top of my head. I'm sure more will be revealed as we learn from other flashbacks.

Another thing I picked up on in this episode, and I may be digging waaaaaayyyyyy to deep, but the name "Henry Gale" really sounded familiar to me. It must have been the fact that I just got the Wizard of OZ on DVD. Henry Gale was Dorothy's uncle. Hmmmmm...just something else to think about. Also, Henry "I'm one of them" Gale was pretty clean shaven for someone who allegedly crash landed on the island 4 months ago. Steve McCoy and I were just discussing this and he spoke about the fact that some special ops military training involves the use of fictional characters... meaning that the officer would assume the identity of the fictional character and know everything about them down to the smallest detail so that they would not slip up while being tortured/interrogated and reveal their true identity and /or purpose. Hence, this is why Henry Gale knew so much about balloons. Henry Gale from the movie is also the balloonist in OZ. Also, not that it has any relevance at this time, but I have often heard Australia referred to as "Oz." Flight 815 originated from Sydney. Maybe Australia is using this island to develop and army of super soldiers and planning a world take over...lol...alright, I'm digging too deep again.

Oooooo....Oooooooo... as I was doing some extra research for this post, I just ran across a great site which has some screen captures and other goodies. Check out The Tail Section. There is a capture of the symbols that show up when the hatch timer runs out. Looks like someone has discovered that these symbols are Egyptian hieroglyphics and when used in the way that they were on the show mean "cause to die." I still think it's all smoke and mirrors. All part of a psychological experiment to train people/soldiers to do what they are told. It's almost like classic conditioning. If you thought the world would end unless you entered a sequence of numbers and hit "execute" every 108 minutes, you would do everything you could to make sure that button was pushed. It did sound like something was going to launch, I'll give you that. The noises could have all been a part of the psych experiment to keep the trainees in line with their duty. Just another one of my crazy theories.

As far as the rest of the episode, I'm not sure what the Sawyer/Hurley frog hunt meant. Hurley stealing and devouring food from the hatch could be tied back into a past discussion of the Seven Deadly Sins. Other than that, I'm not sure of the purpose of the frog hunt. Maybe I missed something.

Next week's episode (Feb. 22) is another re-run. They will be showing the very first episode from season one (Pilot Episode). Then the following week (March 1) we get the brand new Lost "Maternity Leave" in which Claire, Kate, & Rousseau try to return to where Claire was kidnapped. Based on the promo, we get to explore another Dharma hatch. Mr. Friendly is listed as returning too.

Lost: "One of Them" Preview

Real quick before I get into a short preview for tonights episode, I was doing some reading and it never really occured to me that Vincent (Walt's dog) is always around when something bad happens. I just never really noticed it. I saw him come out of the brush right before Charlie attacked Sun, but never really noticed that he was around whenever their was trouble. That's just something else that we can all watch for.

Tonight, Danielle Rousseau returns to lead Sayid to a mysterious captive in the jungle. They do not know if he is one of the "others" or not, but Sayid is going to use his own powers of persuasion to find out. We will also get a little bit more on Sayid though his flashbacks. Hurley does something that could have devistating effects and Sawyer uses the info to blackmail Hurley into helping him hunt an island creature. In the preview it looked like they may let the timer in the hatch expire, but the clock looks different. They may have slipped in another dream sequence like they did that time with Jin.

The show clips are up now on AOL. Here's a link if you want to check them out:
AOL TV

One more thing, for those who have just joined the Lost revolution this season, you will be able to watch the very first episode of season one next week (Feb. 22, 2006). It's another damn re-run. I know they have actor and production schedules to work around, but I want more new episodes.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Lost" "The Long Con" Airdate: Feb. 8, 2006

My apologies for being extremely late in posting this. I actually started writing it on Thursday and then got hit with that funky sinus thing that's been going around. I had to call in sick Friday and that put me behind on a few other projects. I'm feeling better. Now, back to LOST:

So...hmmmmmm... Sawyer is an evil man. His hand was well played though. Taking advantage of everyones paranoia using Kate to turn everyone against each other which ultimately put him in charge was classic. "He who controls the spice, controls the universe" - Dune. He who controls the guns, takes no sh!# from the other survivors. Sawyer made an alliance with Charlie and even conned him into doing his dirty work. However, something tells me that Sawyer is not the kind of person who works well with others. Don't expect the SawChuck relationship to last.

If I had to guess, and that is basically what I am doing... I stay away from published spoilers (at least I try to)... so if I had to predict some of the future of the show, I would say that the other Survivors will find out that it was Charlie who kidnapped/assaulted Sun. After Jin gets through with him, Charlie will be forced into exile and he will be one of the other characters to die. I have heard in talking with other LOST fans and in reading articles on the show that a few more characters will die this season. The shows producers originally said that after Shannon, no one else would die for "a while." It's a pretty widespread rumor now and less of a spoiler that Ana-Lucia will be the next to die. Reports from the set tell the tale of Michelle Rodriguez' diva-like behavior as well as her pending DUI problems in Hawaii. However, J.J. Abrams recently denied all of the rumors about Ana, but that's the first thing you do when info gets out that you don't want out yet. I bet they'll do it. Exactly how she will die is up in the air, but I have that feeling again that it will be at the hands at Kate... who is extra pissed now after getting duped by Sawyer.

Speaking of Kate, did you happen to catch Kate's mom in the diner when Sawyer was meeting with Gordy? They always try to connect each character in some way. All of the connections may come into play when we finally learn what in the hell is really going on.

A few other notable things from this episode:

1. Hurley's comment about "time."
2. Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade" was playing on that radio that Sayid & Hurley hooked up.

(Borrowed From: Glenn Miller History)
"Finally, on December 15, 1944, Glenn boarded a single engine C-64 Norseman aircraft to travel to Paris, France where he was to make arrangements for a Christmas broadcast. Tragically, the plane never reached France and was never found."

3. The script that shows up very quickly in a scene is allegedly about purgatory. This may just be a jab at everyone who thinks that they are all in purgatory. The writers have said that they are not.

That's all I have for now. If I missed anything, feel free to post or send me an e-mail. Here's to the next episode.

LOST "Fire & Water" Airdate: Jan 25, 2006

"Ya Hittin' That?" It had to be the funniest line of the night. Even funnier than all of the Sawyerisms...which weren't all that good tonight anyway."Ya Hittin' That?" I'm almost ashamed to include it in the same discussion as the Baptism of Christ. We see the painting briefly in Charlie's Christmas flashback/nightmare. Many people attribute the painting to Da Vinci, but it was Da Vinci's master Andrea Del Verrocchio who is responsible for creating the Baptism of Christ. Da Vinci did play a part though. He created one of the angels and some of the background. Of course I only just discovered this while researching the painting.I'm not sure that this information has any relevance to the topic at hand. Perhaps there might be a deeper meaning in the symbolism. Maybe the "Others" are just a small part of the entire picture...and then, I might be digging way too deep beneath the surface again. Below is a .jpg of the Baptism of Christ followed by a screen capture from the episode:

Here are two screen captures from Charlie's bizarre halucination. Charlie's mom and Claire are depicted as the angels from the painting. In the second pic, you can see the dove as it flies out of the picture.

The angels tell Charlie that he must "Save" the baby. Charlie takes this dream to mean that the baby is in trouble; however, they do not mean the literal meaning of "save," but rather how it is defined in the religious sense. This leads me to a new theory. Since it appears that the writers are painting Aaron as Christ-like, will the baby have to die for the sins of the other survivors of Flight 815? Just a thought...er, well... now one of my new theories.

As far as the rest of the episode, I'm hearing some complaints in the hall that it wasn't that good. Sometimes with this show, you have to dig a little deeper. To me, most of the episode was a "set-up" show. Sawyer's comment about Jack and Anna spending a lot of time together; Hurley asking Libby if he knew her from somewhere else;Locke acting strange and then saving the heroin when he should have destroyed it; Claire and Aaron being baptised by Eko; these were all scenes meant to set-up the story line for the rest of the season. We will probably learn that Hurley knows Libby from the nut house. Jack and Anna are spending time together planning Jack's little battle against Mr. Friendly and his cronies, and during that time their relationship will blossom. I think I have said it before, but Locke seems to know a lot more than he is letting on. His strange behavior is likely to continue and even get worse.

A few other things that just popped into my head. Libby makes a comment about the Washer and Dryer being newer than everything else in the hatch. I am not sure if this is a set-up for something to come or just a jab at the forum members who posted about the age of the washer/dryer versus the rest of the hatch several episodes ago. Also, the Drive Shaft baby diaper commercial flashback was strange. It reminded me of that episode of CSI where the gansta with a "I wanna be a baby" fetish has a secret room and craps himself. I don't know why I thought of that, I just did.

Before I log off, I wanted to pass on some more info. I was checking the TV listings and it looks like they are gonna run the Hurley flashback episode, Numbers from season one next week, Feb 1, 2006. The next new episode, The Long Con will air on Feburary 8th opposite the Grammy Awards. That will be a tough decision on my part. Thank gawd I got my DVR working.

Lost "The Hunting Party" Airdate: Jan. 18, 2006

The line has been drawn for the epic battle of the 2005/2006 television season. The battle between good and evil, the black rock and the white rock, yin & yang... But yet, who is good and who is evil? The Losties seem to have a lot of baggage from their past. Many of them are murderers. Before I get into what Jack said to Anna, "How long do you think it will take to train an army?" I wanted to touch on another theory that passed right by me in last nights episode.

Steve McCoy from the Steve & Vikki morning show presented this theory to me this morning. Last night Jack's wife, Sarah, says she is leaving him [Jack] and that she has been seeing someone else. Could that someone else been Desmond? (The crazy guy from the hatch that we meet at the beginning of this season - for those who are just jumping on the LOST bandwagon). Jack did have a funny look on his face when he saw the picture of Desmond and a mystery girl on a table in the hatch. Below is the screen capture of the picture from an earlier episode:

The capture is pretty dark, but it looks like it could be Sarah. Let's compare. Here is a screen capture of Sarah from this episode:

It very well could be her. Sarah lips in the Hunting Party epsisode look a bit more pouty. Then again, she was sad because she was hurting Jack. Many of the posters on the forums are theorizing that Sarah was seeing Ethan because his name (Ethan Rom) was an anagram for "Other Man." I don't buy into that. But you never know with this damn show. We'll have to see if they go back to the picture in a future episode. Who knows, maybe they replaced the originally cast actor. They might slip in another photo to reflect the change.

Here's a good question: why was Jack being such an a-hole to "Mr. Friendly" (that's the name given to him by imdb.com... I think I heard Sawyer call him Zeke)? If it were me, I would be asking him questions rather than fighting with him. "It's your island, ok, you got it. How do we get off? Ya got a boat?"

And why does Mr. Friendly have the appearance of a pirate? Could it be that the pirates from the Black Rock ship that was found in season one are still alive? One of the Dharma Initiative experiments is the Hanso Life Extension Project. While I'm at it, let me list all of the Dharma Experiments:

1. Life Extension Project
2. Electro Magnetic Research Initiative
3. Quest for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence
4. Mathematical forecasting Initiative
5. Cryogenics Development Imperative
6. Juxtapositional Eugenics Development Institute
7. Accelerated Remote Viewing Training

You can find the above listed as well as a few other hidden items on:
The Hanso Foundation website.

By knowing what experiments may be going on, you might have a better understanding as to how the "Others" get around so fast and how they know a lot about the Lostaways. I'm still convinced that there are two sets of others. I read another theory on one of the many forums that said the Others we met last night may be the "Men of Science" where as the Others that the Talies encountered where more spiritual. It may come down to a battle between science and faith. Think about that for a few minutes.

Finally, we begin the subject of Jack's army. I'm pretty sure that this is how the rest of this season will play out culminating in a battle scene where we will have to "Tune In Next Fall To See Who Survives... And Who Dies." Can't we all just get along. It seems that Jack may be bent on building an army and destroying the others. But why? Is he infected with the "sickness?" Is it the main point of all the experiments? Is it the only way that J.J. Abrams can stretch this monster into a third season without pissing all of us viewers off? I welcome your thoughts and comments.

I've probably missed a few things from "The Hunting Party" so feel free to post any comments. Oh yeah... Keep an eye out for a new site popping up under the name Geronimo Jackson. That was the album that Hurley and Charlie pull out and mention a few times.

Until next time. Thanks for reading!

LOST: "The 23rd Psalm" Airdate: January, 11, 2006

Whoa. Mr. Eko is a bad mutha (watch yo mouth). When his character was first introduced and we started to learn about him, I figured he was a God fearing man with high moral values. I had no idea he was a Nigerian drug lord. It must have been when his brother was shot and he was left on the ground at the airstrip that he turned to Christ. Obviously, they will air another Eko centered flashback episode where we learn more; but yet, we may be left to assume that it was at that moment when he begins his life journey as a penitent man. It really explains why he took the 40 day vow of silence after he had to kill a few of the "others" in an earlier episode.

Here's something you may have missed just like a lot of the Losties I talked to this morning. Then again, if you have TiVo or some other DVR, you may have caught it. When Mr. Eko faces the smoke, images appear as flashes of light when the smoke moves through him. Below are some screen captures. Keep in mind, even though I have adjusted the image lighting in photoshop, they still may be hard to see and these are actual screen captures. No other photoshop tricks were used other than "Image Adjust."

Smoke Image 1

Smoke Image 2

Smoke Image 3

Smoke Image 4

Smoke Image 5

Smoke Image 6

At first I thought the smoke was composed of the spiritual energy of those Eko had killed throughout his life. As I watched the scene over and over and found the images in the smoke, it appears to me that the smoke was reading his life. There are a few images that I couldn't make out so I didn't post them, but in the images above, you can see his brother, Eko as a child again (I think), Eko's brother & himself when he was shot, and then a crucifix in the final pic which to me symbolize his acceptance of Christ into his heart.

A few questions still remain... at least in my head. What WAS the smoke? Is it part of one the Hanso Foundation/Dharma Initiative experiments still hapening on the island? Is Michael really talking to Walt or anyone for that matter on the computer? When Jack surprised him, I never saw him clear the screen. When camera sweeps around after Jack leaves the screen is blank. Maybe Walt cleared it... or maybe Michael is going a bit mad. Didn't Danielle mention something about a sickness in season one?

I'm gonna hit the Lost forums. If I come up with any good stuff, I'll post it.

LOST Returns Next Week!!!!

Happy New Year! Wow, it's been over a month since I posted. If it weren't for the wonderful time I had over the holidays, I'm sure my LOST withdrawl would have been the end of me. They did show a few re-runs during the month, but I had already seen those so many times that I didn't need to watch 'em again. I actually spent some good quality time with the family during the hiatus. My wife was in shock the first time I didn't head to my normal Wednesday night position at 9:00pm.

Well, the Wednesday night quality time is over. Game On. LOST returns next Wednesday night (Jan. 11) at 8:00pm with a recap show (LOST: Revelation)which will re-tell the story of the Fuselage survivors and Talies in a linear fashion to catch up the regulars and newbies alike. After that it's LOST: The 23rd Psalm. Here's brief synopsis that I just read on www.tvguide.com:

"Mr. Eko questions Charlie about the Virgin Mary statue; Claire begins to lose faith in Charlie when she discovers his secret; and Jack is very interested in Kate's attentions toward Sawyer."

AH HA! "Jack is very interested in Kate's attentions toward Sawyer." Uh huh. I think I may have said this in my last post, and this is not a spolier just my own opinion, but I think Kate and Sawyer will hook up while Jack and Anna fall in love. There are a lot of people who hate Anna Lucia, but I think the writers can bring her character around and just as we all fall in love with her, they will kill her off. What do you think? It's just one of my own theories.

Anna may at least have to disapear for a while especially if her alter ego (Michelle Rodrigues) gets any jail time for that DUI in Hawaii a whle back. I hear that she plead "not gulity" and it will go to trial in March. Stay tuned!

*Cheers* Here's to another great episode. I'll be back on Thursday with a show post... maybe even ealier if I get some good links or info.

LOST "What Kate Did" Airdate: November 30, 2005

Wow! Where do I even start? First of all, What Kate Did totally made up for last weeks episode, even though I'm still peeved that we have to wait six weeks until the next new LOST. We now know what Kate did that sent her on the run, but let's start with the "kiss."

I knew the kiss was coming. I also knew that it was not Sawyer; and I had ruled out Charlie, even though he and Evangeline are dating in real life (at least I think they're still dating... I can't keep up with all of the Hollywood romances). Jack was the only logical choice. The kiss, as hot as it was, ended very awkwardly as Kate continued her downward spiral. I guess Jack backed down because he felt sorry for Sawyer. At the start of the episode, Sawyer asks, "Where is she?" and says "I love her." We don't really know if he was even referring to Kate. I think Jack is going to hook-up with Anna anyway. It will be something the writers can grow into next season. They'll get all the Anna-haters to fall in love with her and then kill her off. I wouldn't put it past them.

What Kate Did
Kate murdered her biological father, Wayne. For most of the episode, I thought he was her step-dad. In a way he was. The man that Kate looked to as a father was stationed in Korea while her mom had an affair with Wayne. When Kate found out that the no-good, white-trash, drunken, wife beater, Wayne was her real father, she resented the fact that she was a part of him and thus did what she did. It seems that most of our Lostaways have had "daddy" issues. I wonder if that will come into play as the plot of this story is finally revealed.

The Horse
I haven't checked any of the forums yet today, so I am not sure of the meaning of the horse. She sees it when she gets away from the marshall in the flashback, and sees it a few times on the island. Sawyer also sees it, so it is not just in her mind. Could it be that the horse is some sort of spirit guide?

The Book
If you would like to read the story that Mr. Eko told of Josiah and the Book of Law, here's a link to 2 Kings:22-23 NIV. I'm trying not to dig too deep, but I feel the only reason he told this story as he revealed that he too had found a book was to solidify the fact that he is a God fearing man. It also sets us up for more religious overtones in the next episode aptly titled The 23rd Psalm. Did I mention that we will not see this episode until January 11? Yeah, I'm still steaming. "...Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." I just read that Eko's stick is going to have it's own flashback. Watch for that in The 23rd Psalm.

The Missing Film
I was just talking to Sherpa Mike and we are in agreement that this may not be the only missing piece of the film. There are a few more jump cuts that could signify missing footage. Perhaps it is hidden in the other hatches that the Lostaways have not yet discovered. It could be with Desmond...Where the hell is that guy? Didn't he grab some books as he ran out of the hatch? What we learned in the added film set up the cliff hanger ending. "Don't use the computer for anything other than inputting the numbers". Using it for anything else could lead to "another incident." We still don't know what the first incident was, but something tells me that the blast doors that Michael points out early in the episode dropped. I find it funny that as Eko and Locke were being told why they shouldn't use the computer for other things, the DOS prompt awakens as Michael watches and responded. It's as if they are being watched...Continually.

A Few Other Things To Ponder

Locke asks, "What are the odds?"
To which Eko responds, "Don't mistake coincidence for fate."

Sawyer to Kate: "Do you know that horse, Freckles?"
Kate: "Yeah, I do"

Was Sawyer channeling the ghost of Wayne when he asks Kate, "Why did you kill me?"

Song that Kate plays in the hatch: "Walking After Midnight" Patsy Cline

I go out walkin after midnight,
Out in the moonlight, just like we used to do,
I'm always walkin after midnight searchin for you ~
I walk for miles along the highway,
Well, that's just my way of sayin "I love you,"

LOST: "Collision" Airdate: November 23, 2005

I know it's taken me a while to post something on "Collision." The fact is I didn't really get much from it. Sure we officially found out that Anna was a cop, but I've known that for the past few weeks... I inadvertently clicked on an undisclosed spoiler. We also know now that Anna was pregnant, but lost the child when she was shot. I wonder if it's the decision(s) in life that our Lostaways (as they are being called now) make that lead to them not being on "the list" that Goodwin mentioned in "The Other 48 Days." Anna decided to track and kill the man who killed her unborn baby; Jack had to choose whether to save Shannon's dad or his future wife; tonight we should learn the path that Kate chooses during "What Kate Did." There still so much more to learn as we dig deeper into each character. I also just read that this will be the last episode of this year. Expect some sort of cliffhanger ending. There will be no new LOST for the next six weeks so that they can run Christmas specials on ABC... Bummer. Well, don't get me wrong, I love Christmas... It's just that my LOST addiction runs deep.

Here's something to show you just how sad I have become. The morning after Thanksgiving, I was in Kroger picking up some breakfast supplies. The store was nearly empty except for the couple at the register checking out. As the cashier ran the items across the scanner, the "beep" that echoed through the store was the same "beep" that sounds when the Hatch numbers near zero. I swear. Check it out for yourself the next time you are in Kroger. I wonder if the production team recorded that sound at a Hawaiian grocery store?

LOST: "The Other 48 Days" Airdate: Nov. 16, 2005

I stand corrected. Anna DID shoot Shannon. I accepted that Shannon was dead, but I still didn't think that Anna shot her. Now I know. And now that we have seen the plight of the other survivors, we have a lot more to "feed the fire." There are new theories popping up about the island, new discussions. I tagged Goodwin as the spy early on because there was just something in his eyes that wasn't right. I didn't even notice that he was dry until Anna mentions it. Then again, he could have ended up like Bernard (stuck in a tree) and that would have explained why he was dry. The scene that really raised an eyebrow was when Anna confronts Goodwin. Here are some links to the audio from that scene:

Why are They attacking us?
Sure seemed like they used the same precision as a Military Special Op... Divide and conquer! First they took the strong survivors that posed a threat, then came back later for the "good" people..the people on "The List."

Where did they get the Knife?
There's a 20 year old US Army knife that "you don't see anymore" found on one of the "Others." Possible theories: There was a US Military special operation in which a small group was sent in to shut down the Dharma Initiative, but they fell victim to the experiment themselves. This might explain the incident that was mentioned in the training film. OR, it was always a military experiment. The experiment just went awry... or maybe it's still going on to this day.

Caught in a lie
Busted! Anna plays her hand well. I read a post on one of the LOST forums that claimed that Anna was a cop. We may find this out as her character develops and we get to view some of her flashbacks. I have a feeling her training goes beyond that of a police officer. Her style seems more militaristic. She seems to have a grasp on the situation. And the fact that she can recall what time she saw Goodwin and how he appeared after falling from the sky in a horrific plane crash, leads me to believe that she has experience and training in dealing with high-stress situations.

Where are they?
"Nathan wasn't a good person. That's why he wasn't on the list." Good person is defined here as................? Hmmmmmmmmm. THEY only took the "Good" people. Were these "good people" pure of heart with nothing to hide in their pasts? Were they "good" for the experiment because they possessed certain traits or gifts? And what the hell did they do to them when they took 'em? I could ponder this all day.

In conclusion...because I feel like I'm writing a freakin' thesis, but I had to get these thoughts out of my head before it popped... it appears that there is more than one set of "Others." On one side of the island the Others are more pirate-like; on the other side, they are more supernatural, ghost-like. Are they one-in-the-same? All part of the experiment?

Oh wait! I thought I was done, but I wanted to mention something I saw in the promo for next weeks show. Anna fires again and it looks like she shot Sayid. We all know that she was out of ammo, so I'm thinking that they are setting us up again by showing us a clip from a dream sequence in which Sayid takes the bullet for Shannon. Just something to watch for next week.

LOST "Abandoned" and "The Other 48 Days"

Ya hear that? That's the sound of me reeling myself back in. I haven't really weighed in on "Abandoned" because I wasn't taking things for what they were. Like the millions of LOST conspiracy theorists across the country (world, even), I too have fallen victim to the show. After reading many different forum posts, listening to the official podcast, and reading a ton of news reports, I have come to the unfortunate realization that Shannon really is dead. Even though the writers/producers have mislead us before (i.e. Jin speaking English in a show promo turned out to be only in Hurly's dream sequence) and there is so much symbolism in the show, "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" in this episode. ALTHOUGH, I am still not convinced that Anna shot Shannon. The way they set up the scenes, you never see Anna in the same scene with Shannon and Sayid... you only see an arm. It could have been anyone's arm. Uh oh, here I go again. Let me pull myself together.

LOST is such a fun show to watch and analyze. I can't wait to see how it all ends and how everything will finally come together. I wonder when that will be? "The Other 48 Days" airs tonight and we will find out what happened to the tailies, and what Anna meant by "They" TOOK three and then TOOK nine more. She never they were killed, just that they were taken. I'm curious as to what that means. Brainwashing? Re-programming? Hmmmmmm.

I didn't see any clips posted on the AOL site for "The Other 48 Days," but I have a few other links to post:

USA Today Article on Michelle Rodriguez
(If it asks for any kind of User Name/Password, try: Bug Me Not)

The Official Lost Podcast

LOST "Abandoned" Airdate: November 9, 2005

Here's a question I got this morning via e-mail from a friend:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: Aaron Elya [mailto:aaronelya@gmail.com]
Sent: Thursday, November 10, 2005 10:53 AM
To: Tripp West
Subject: Do you think...

....Do you think Anna shot Shannon? I don't think she did. If she only had one bullet left, why would she still have the gun up and pointed? There's something weird about that.

Also, I'd be willing to bet that Libby is one of "the others". I don't trust her.

Later!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My response:

I'll have to check the tape. I recorded the show to my camera and will be kicking out a DVD this weekend. It looked to me that Anna's gun chamber was open as if she fired the last shot. I thought I only heard 1 shot. If there were two, there could be a couple of theories: (1) Shannon shot herself with Sayid's gun that he pulled out of his pants (the one that came out before his "other" gun). We never saw the gun after that scene, did we? She seemed pretty down on herself. Self-inflicted stomach wounds are usually from suicidal people who crave attention rather than death. You can die from it, but it's usually long and painful. (2) Someone else shot Shannon and Anna shot at that person or thing. There was absolutely no closure in that scene. That is what leads me to believe that it's not Shannon who will be "Lost forever." Next weeks episode goes back to the beginning and tells the story of the other survivors. So we'll have to wait to see if she really did die. That's exactly what the writers want. It keeps us speculating and keeps us talking about it... and everyone knows the best form of advertising is word of mouth.

LOST "Abandoned" Airdate: November 9, 2005

I am going to need a few hours to digest this epsiode while I sleep. I have to be up at 4:30am Thursday, but I wanted to go ahead and post what Walt says in reverse. Here's a link to the clip:

Walt

There is more hidden in the voices that Anna and the other survivors hear in the woods, as well as what Sayid & Shannon hear. I can't quite make it out. The rain in the one scene over powers what the voices are saying when played backward. In the scene with Anna, Michael and other survivors, it seems that one of the voices says, "Hide Now," or "Time To Hide Now." I'll try to clean up the audio and get it posted.

Have I "Abandoned" my BLOG?

NOOOOOO. There just wasn't anything to discuss. LOST was on a two week hiatus, spoilers were running rampant on the internet as to WHO was going to die in the November 9th episode, and I was curled up in the fetal position in the corner of my bedroom suffering from LOST withdrawl. Actually, I joined the GHOST HUNTERS forum because they shot their Halloween espisode in my home town of Savannah, Georgia. It ran Halloween night on the SCI-FI Channel. Pretty good episode IMHO and, once again, I am off topic.

I think the wording in the trailer for this weeks episode says something like, "...one of these castaways will be LOST forever..." It really leaves things open-ended. It doesn't say that someone will die, just that someone will be "lost forever." Everyone assumes that a major character will die in Wednesday's episode. That seems to have been the talk around the many LOST forums for the past several weeks. I read a few spoilers, but I'm not buying it. It doesn't make sense to me that they would kill this person off right now. Unless we find out, as the plot progresses, that the island is able to bring people back from the dead.

Walt makes another appearence on Wednesday. So if you have the equipment to capture the audio on your computer and then reverse it, you'll be able to translate any of the possible backwards-talk. I'll try to do it and have it posted after the show. I am looking forward to getting back into the show.

LOST "...And Found" Air Date: Oct 19, 2005

Maybe I'm just losing a little steam, but I didn't seem to gain much from this episode. It could also be the fact that I am having a really busy week and I haven't had a chance to reflect on last nights LOST. I did pick on a few things though. One was the comment made by Echo while he and Jin were tracking Michael. I not sure if it is significant or not, but he says that "they [The Others] don't leave tracks." Then we see a group of people walk by with dirty legs. One of those was a child... could it have been Walt? And they had feet. How do they not leave tracks? Could it be that there are two or more sets of the "others?" Something to ponder.

You would think that since we have to wait 3 weeks until the next LOST, they would have left us with more of a cliff hanger. "Abandoned" is the next new installment and it will Air on November 9. They are touting it as the episode in which a "major character" dies. The talk on the forums is that it will be a female character. Nobody seems to know for sure who...even those who are posting the spoilers. Who will it be? Kate? No way! Shannon? Some think so, but she's supposed to "get it on" with Sayid soon. If you took a poll right now, about 98% would want Anna Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) to die. I have a funny feeling that she will "hook up" with Sawyer in a future show, so it shouldn't be Anna that get's the ax...or what ever tool that the killer chooses to use. Then again, it could be a case of self-defense. That's just my two cents.

Well, since there will be no new LOST for a few weeks, I'll post some pics and possibly some video from the Star 94 Block Party at Atlantic Station. I will be spinning in the Central Park area, so I may miss the first part of the concert with Natasha Bedingfield, Collective Soul, and guest host, Tommy Lee. I'll try to get some good shots though.

LOST Toast

I saw this link posted in a couple of forums and I thought it was kinda funny. Where do I start? Lost last night was not that revealing, but I may have learned more than I thought I did. Jin does not speak English. The "Next Week On Lost" clip that got everyone wound up last week turned out to be nothing more than a strange dream sequence from Hurley. Did you catch Walt (Michael's son) on the milk carton during that dream sequence? And what is the significance of the guy in the chicken suit?

We did get to see another hatch, although, this one was a lot less desirable. We learned that there WERE 23 survivors from the tail section of Flight 815, but, only a few remained in the new hatch. I will have to watch the episode again to get a head count, though, something leads me to believe that the number will be 8. What happened to the other survivors? Was it the "sickness?" Or did "The Others" kill them? We'll have to wait until next week to find out...oh wait. This is LOST that we are talking about. The writers have a tendency to keep us in limbo until THEY are ready for us to know.

And what about Rose and Bernard? The scene was kind of downplayed in my opinion. I could just see Keenon Ivory Wayans popping into the scene and yelling, "MESSAGE!" Does the fact that Rose is black and her husband, Bernard, is white have anything to do with the Black Rock/White Rock theory? Just something to ponder as we wait for next Wednesday.

I have discovered a few new theories floating around that I would like to discuss, but I will save it for a new post.

Evangeline "Kate" Lilly On The Cover of Rolling Stone

Here's a link to the Rolling Stone Article. Thank you Nicola for showing me the article yesterday.

LOST Links

I am moving these from my Star 94 Personality page and storing them here. I am finding more and more links every day and will try to keep up and post them here. Here's a few that you might find helpful as you try to understand and solve the "LOST" mystery:

The Fuselage: Official Creative Team Site

The Official ABC: Lost Message Boards

Oceanic Flight 815

Lost Links

The Number Forum

Oceanic Air

Lost Media (Screen Captures & Other Goodies)

Show Clips (Usually Posted Day Of)

NOTE: I try to stay away from the spoilers even though you may find some on these links. They should be clearly marked in the Subject Line. So if you don't want to ruin your viewing experience, don't click on 'em. But, then again, maybe you just can't wait. Beyond the spoilers, you will find some very interesting theories on some of the forums. It's very entertaining to me to read what others think is really going on with the survivors and the island.

LOST "Orientation" Air Date: Oct. 5, 2005

We learned so much so fast last night, but, as I expected, I still have a ton of unanswered questions. That's what makes this such a great show. I don't think I have ever been "into" any TV show like I am into LOST... well, there was that time when I was 8 and I ordered one of those books at the school book fair that gave me John Schneider's mailing address for "Dukes of Hazzard" fan mail. I never got a letter back. Maybe it was that snub kept me from ever really "falling" for another show until now... and NOW I'm rambling.

I am sort of torn and I know I need to choose one way or the other. Part of me is with Jack in that I feel that "the button" doesn't do anything. It is just a strange experiement to see who could who would actually stay in the hatch and follow orders. A sort of "mouse in the maze" game. Will the mouse find the cheese, or just give up and hang out in the maze?

The other part of me wants to believe that "the button" is imperative. However, the writers gave us so much so fast last night that it leads me to believe that the hatch and the button are not going to be all that significant when all is said and done. I guess I (we for that matter) won't know anything until they decide to end the show.

LOST

As I was posting a few bits of LOST information on my Star 94 Personality page, I realized that the information could stack up quickly and really take over my personality page.
