LOST "Everybody Hates Hugo" Airdate: Oct, 12, 2005
Well... Where do I start? Lost last night was not that revealing, but I may have learned more than I thought I did. Jin does not speak English. The "Next Week On Lost" clip that got everyone wound up last week turned out to be nothing more than a strange dream sequence from Hurley. Did you catch Walt (Michael's son) on the milk carton during that dream sequence? And what is the significance of the guy in the chicken suit?
We did get to see another hatch, although, this one was a lot less desirable. We learned that there WERE 23 survivors from the tail section of Flight 815, but, only a few remained in the new hatch. I will have to watch the episode again to get a head count, though, something leads me to believe that the number will be 8. What happened to the other survivors? Was it the "sickness?" Or did "The Others" kill them? We'll have to wait until next week to find out...oh wait. This is LOST that we are talking about. The writers have a tendency to keep us in limbo until THEY are ready for us to know.
And what about Rose and Bernard? The scene was kind of downplayed in my opinion. I could just see Keenon Ivory Wayans popping into the scene and yelling, "MESSAGE!" Does the fact that Rose is black and her husband, Bernard, is white have anything to do with the Black Rock/White Rock theory? Just something to ponder as we wait for next Wednesday.
I have discovered a few new theories floating around that I would like to discuss, but I will save it for a new post.

The guy in the chicken suit was a reference to Hurley's job at the Chicken Shack. Thanks for the heads up about Walt's picture in the milk carton. And there a total of 5 survivors for the back of the planne shown last night.
Don't know any answers, or more than you do in your blog.
The significance of the guy in the chicken suit in Hurley's dream - wasn't that the place where Hurley worked?? Though we have no idea who the guy was. And the significance of Jin speaking English - maybe just reflecting Hurley's perception that things are not what they seem. Who knows.
Wonder why the other survivors that captured Jin, Michael, and Sawyer are so aggressive?? We, of course, first thought they were the "Others" that stole Walt - but now they supposedly are other survivors. why are they treating them like prisoners, or is it just that they were suspicious and didn't know they were also survivors of Flight 815.
I was trying to remember the faces we saw of the "people" that captured Walt - I almost thought that Bernard was one of the capturers.
That was an interesting remark that Jack made - wonder what's up with him. And wonder why he didn't take a shower - with or without Kate!!
Once again, I want to watch the episode over for all that I missed. I think that maybe ABC re-plays the show on Saturday night, but not sure.
Sorry I'm not more insightful or have answers, Tripp. I am truly addicted to this show too - but I always feel like I only comprehend about 1/3 of it!!
OK - well, now you can tell me to get "lost". ;)

One thing I remember from last season is that "Bernard" or who I thought was Bernard when Rose saw him was that he was black, not white, and he was tall and skinny in a dark suit. I'm not sure if I was confusing him with someone else or if there is any significance to it, but I guess it is part of the whole mystery.
